Competition Terms
DRAFT — pending solicitor review
1. The Promoter
The promoter is Winugold Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17544506), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, trading as Winugold. Contact: contact@winugold.co.uk.
2. Nature of the competitions
Winugold competitions are prize competitions. To enter, you must correctly answer a question requiring knowledge, skill or judgement. Entry is also available free by post. Our competitions are not lotteries and are not licensed by the Gambling Commission.
Among valid entries, the winner is selected at random, in accordance with the laws of chance.
3. Eligibility
Open to individuals aged 18 or over who are not resident in an excluded territory. Excluded territories include, without limitation: France, Germany, the United States, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, Myanmar, Mali and the Crimea region, and any other country or territory where taking part in paid prize competitions is prohibited or restricted. By entering, each entrant certifies that they are not resident in an excluded territory and that taking part is lawful where they live; it is the entrant’s responsibility to check this before entering. Entries from excluded territories are void: if such an entrant is drawn, the entry is disqualified, the ticket price is refunded and a new winner is drawn. Employees of the Promoter and their families may not enter. One account per person.
4. How to enter
Choose a competition, the number of entries, answer the question and pay. An entry is valid only if the answer is correct, payment is received and the entry arrives before the closing time. Entries with an incorrect answer are not entered into the draw and are not refunded. Each valid entry receives a unique number. All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable, except where a competition is cancelled (see clause 7) or where we must decline an order (for example, because a spending limit would be exceeded), in which case it is refunded in full.
5. Free postal entry
Every competition can be entered free by post — see the Free postal entry page. Postal entries have the same chance of winning and count towards the maximum number of entries.
6. Limits and player protection
No limit per competition beyond its maximum entries. Credit card payments are limited to about £250 per player per month. Every account has a monthly spending limit (default £2,000) that you can change; increases apply after 72 hours. You can pause or close your account at any time.
7. Closing, extension and refunds
A competition closes when sold out or at its closing time. If not sold out, the closing time may be extended once by up to 10 days, then a second time by up to 10 days. At the final closing time, the draw goes ahead if at least 70% of entries were sold; otherwise the competition is cancelled and every participant is refunded in full.
8. Prizes
Gold is new, sealed, from LBMA-accredited refiners. The prize value is locked when the competition opens. The winner may take 85% of the locked value in cash instead (90% for Gold and Black members).
Photographs and visuals of prizes are for illustration only and are not contractual: the prize delivered may differ in brand, refiner, design, packaging or serial number, while always matching the weight, fineness and description stated on the competition page.
9. The draw
Live on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube at the published time. Before the draw, the list of valid entries is published and lodged with an independent third-party draw service (RANDOM.ORG or equivalent), which selects the winning entry using true random numbers and issues a public, verifiable record. The stream is unedited and kept online; the draw record is published on the Winners page. During the live, we may telephone the winner on air: the call is broadcast only if the winner agrees at the start of the call — otherwise we end the broadcast of the call and contact the winner privately. Not answering the call has no effect on the win.
10. Winner verification
The winner must provide photo ID, proof of address (less than 3 months old) and proof that the payment card or wallet used belongs to them, within 14 days. If the winner cannot be verified, is ineligible or cannot be contacted, a new draw is held.
11. Delivery
Gold: insured delivery within 30 days to an address in an eligible country. Bitcoin: sent to the wallet address supplied by the winner after a test transfer; the winner is responsible for the address. Cash: bank transfer within 7 days. Property: transferred before a notary or conveyancer within 90 days.
12. Publicity, taxes, site credit
We publish the winner’s first name, surname initial, town and winning number. Filming is optional. Winners are responsible for any taxes in their country. Site credit has no cash value, expires after 12 months, covers up to 20% of an order and 10% of a competition’s entries, and cannot be used on headline prizes.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
